Why Use Java (TM) Applets ?
Java (TM)
Applets add a touch of professionalism and dynamic nature to your site. Whether it's a user interactive menu, moving
text or images, a banner ad ... whatever it may be, Applets
make visiting your site more enjoyable and easier to use for
your visitors.
Will everyone be able to see and use them ?
The Java (TM) Applets supplied by JObjects.net have all been
compiled for the Java (TM) Virtual Machine version 1.1 for
backwards compatibility, and have been tested on the following
PC platforms : Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla and Opera.
In addition, applets should function correctly on Apple Mac
and Sun browsers. This should cover 99.999% of all
visitors to your site ! How do I use them ?
Java (TM) Applets are very, very easy to add to your site, and
to configure.
Full installation instructions are supplied with all Java (TM)
applets, usually online as well as Microsoft Word and text
formats. These documents should cover all aspects of how
you install your applet, however we are always here to help,
and our support department will get you out of any problems
you encounter.
How do I copy into HTML ?
There are three things you need to do to install a Java (TM)
applet.
First, you need to copy the .class file or files supplied
when you purchase your applet into the same directory as the
web page that will use the applet. If you have many
different pages which will use the same applet, which are
stored in different folders, you will need a copy of the
file(s) in each folder. If using a design tool such as
Microsoft Frontpage, the File / Import function should help
you do this.
Next you need to copy the same HTML supplied in the
documentation into the HTML of your web page. Again, if
using a design tool like Frontpage there will be an option to
change from viewing the page in "normal" (or design) mode,
into viewing in HTML mode.

The easiest thing to do is copy the HTML code from the
documentation, go to the place in your document where you want
to install the applet, click in that location, then go into
HTML mode and paste the HTML.
The final step is to configure
the applet to suit your site and your needs. Again, full
information is supplied in the documentation as to what each
parameter means, but typically you will want to alter the
width and height of the applet (if applicable) to suit your
site, and you will need to change the other "param name"
values to, say, have your menu options or values.
Is that all ??
Yup ! Really, it is that easy to install Java (TM) applets
on your site !
What's this about licensing ?
We provide two levels of licensing :
Standard License : for an individual or company using the
applet on a single site. You can use the applet as many
times as you like on that site.
Professional License : aimed at web page designers or
writers, in other words people or companies who create web
sites for other people. You can use the applet on as
many different sites that you create as you like.
